The Adecco Group Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week in the U.S.

November 11 – 17, 2019

A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, the United States experiences critical workforce challenges including skills-gaps, talent shortages, Boomer retirements, technological disruption; and

WHEREAS, there are more job openings than available talent to fill open positions; and

WHEREAS, transactional hiring models are not sufficient in meeting the demands of hiring needs; and

WHEREAS, linear educational models in their current state are not the most comprehensive, flexible or cost effective way to meet the competency needs of modern employers; and

WHEREAS, a 63% labor force participation rate indicates possible systematic and cultural inclusion deficiencies; and

WHEREAS, Registered Apprenticeship as a gold standard training model provides a proven structure for developing skills and competencies; and

WHEREAS, Registered Apprenticeship enables partnerships between businesses, education, community-based organizations; and

WHEREAS, Registered Apprenticeship as a structured training and development program empowers anyone regardless of socioeconomic status or geography to experience success in the workforce and become a skilled professional; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Quincie Rivers, Vice President of Workforce Strategies and Employment Solutions, recognize the value of Apprenticeship on behalf of the Adecco Group as we take on the mission of upskilling America. In April 2019, the Adecco Group was excited to join the ranks of the many amazing organizations that have adopted Apprenticeship by becoming the first staffing firm to develop an internal Registered Apprenticeship training program for our Recruiters in branches across the nation. The Adecco Group calls upon businesses, education, workforce professionals, and government agencies to recognize the value of apprenticeships in developing ecosystems of cooperation toward a more effective and sustainable employment and training model during:
