[Toronto] August 25, 2022: The Adecco Group, the world’s leading talent advisory and solutions company, has proudly joined the Tent Coalition for Refugees in Canada, committing to create economic opportunity for newcomers as they restart their lives across the country.

As Canada welcomes an unrestricted number of refugees from Ukraine and 40,000 refugees from Afghanistan, members of the Tent Coalition for Refugees in Canada have pledged to explore concrete opportunities to hire, train or help economically integrate refugees into their communities across the country in meaningful ways.

Beyond helping refugees to overcome barriers to enter the workforce, the Adecco Group campaigns for more inclusive pathways to employment worldwide.

“As one of the largest employers in the world, we are committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of refugees,” said Bridges Holmes, Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Social Responsibility at the Adecco Group, North America.“We are honored to build on our international partnership with Tent by joining this vital Coalition alongside likeminded organizations. Through our joint efforts, expertise and relationships, we can uncover new avenues to help refugees start their next chapter in Canada.”

The Adecco Group joins 21 of Canada’s leading employers in the Coalition, including: Accenture, Accor, Agropur, Bank of Montreal, Bollore Logistics, Ceridian, Danby, Day & Ross, Deloitte, Hilton, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Jacobs, Loblaws, McCain Foods, Pfizer, Shopify, Inc., Swarovski, Telus Corporation, TD Bank Group, and Ubisoft.

“We are thrilled to see the Adecco Group stepping up for refugees at such a critical time,” said Gideon Maltz, Executive Director at the Tent Partnership for Refugees. “Supporting refugees is not only the right thing to do – it’s also the smart thing to do. As consumers seek out brands that align with their beliefs, supporting refugees will build brand loyalty and benefit the bottom line. All in all, supporting refugees is a win-win for businesses, refugees, and the whole of society.”

With more and more refugees displaced for longer periods of time, businesses have a critical role to play in helping refugees integrate economically in their new host communities. The Tent Partnership for Refugees mobilizes the global business community to improve the lives and livelihoods of more than 36 million refugees who have been forcibly displaced from their home countries. Founded by Chobani’s founder and CEO Hamdi Ulukaya in 2016, we are a network of over 250 major companies committed to including refugees. Tent believes that companies can most sustainably support refugees by leveraging their core business operations -by engaging refugees as potential employees, entrepreneurs, and consumers.
